Im sure there is a lot of giggles and smiles after the prank episode by the Chaser Group and Red Faces on the part of the police. But ask yourselves how serious it is and what will be the outcome. Maybe through all the laughter you havent given it much thought, well just THINK about it. In Australia security tends to be copycat and follows other nations styles and methods and pranks like the one pulled by the Chaser Group to take the piss out of the police might just lead to a bit more tightening up security and what does that mean to us…….. LESS FREEDOM of movement thats what it means and will you all be laughing then and will Chaser and his idiots be standing up and chanting hey look we caused that, like F…K they will. Im in the US right now and security is noticeable when you go to any event football baseball etc. Inconvenient, I suppose so, but everyone knows the reason for it and accepts it as a precaution for their safety. It took a vile terrorist act to bring this action into everyday life with security forces at different places consstantly alert.
The fun and games of the chaser group will bring tighter security to Australia and if thats what they intended to do then stand up and say it and forget the piss taking and hiding behind a so called prank. Personally I hope they get jailed for it if it was only a joke. The rest of us are going to have to live with the consequences for everafter believe me. Being serched at sporting events where there are huge crowds and more cameras like the Poms and they dont complain one camera for every fourteen people there’s freedom and privacy for you how do you liike them apples Chaser. Youre a bunch of F….K…G mugs that can do those things because Australia is still a great place to live and feel free and people like you are going to destroy it for the rest of us and we will suffer to satisfy your personal ego. Thanks a lot MATE.
A picture is worth a thousand words said somebody. Well this one is worth thousands perhaps millions of dollars if it what it represents could ever be implemented. This sign is on some posts at intersections in the New York area of Rego Park and probably other places to for all I know. But I ask you really, how do you enforce such a ridiculous law or regulation or whatever it is. Do the police lay in waiting for the dreaded honkers and if there are four cars at the junction how do they identify who honked. Lets face it we often use the term beaurocracy gone mad and of course this is the case in this stupid situation, but lets look deeper into it. Who is/was the person responsible for having the signs produced and erected also what was the cost of the folly. Furthermore is there a report that shows how much revenue has ever been collected for the purpose of inclusion into future budget expenses as revenue available for projects ahead. I doubt it, what a waste of time and money and the mind boggles at the thought of a car honker spy lying in wait for an unsuspecting honker to press his car horn when frustrated or just plain impatient because of the car ahead. Is there anyone likely to own up as the instigator of this stupid sign, I have just been told it would have come from the traffic department so I guess that says it all, just look at the mess the traffic is in, everyone is a law unto themselves and honk their brains out (perhaps brains isnt the correct word), cyclists dont have to obey traffic lights or if they do they dont bother to but nobody does anything to bring them in line with the rest of the road users they just flaunt the law and dice with death. So Mr Backstreet honker sleuth I suggest you do something useful for your wages and enter the 21st century with us unhappy frustrated impatient horn honkers.Toot Toot.
MTA TICKET PRICE INCREASE
As Ive said in the past Im not a resident of the US but I am a commuter to the city fairly regularly using the subway and just recently by bus. So its with some thought and observations I will enter my opinion on the proposed MTA price rise which is evidently expected to occur in the near or distant future. $2 gets me around quite well without much fuss and bother, in other countries fares are usually set by the distances travelled, the further you go the more you pay and the quality of the trip isnt any better from memory than the subway here. Except for Taiwan. Here your subway is a means to travel from points in all directions to your workplace or entertainment destinations it is also a vehicle for eating your breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks etc depending on the time of day you travel. But incredibly its a vehicle for you to dispose of the wrappers and plastic bottles on the floor or the seats for someone to clean up at some time after you have departed. Bottles rolling around the floor is a common site and burger wrappers and containers that held fries are the norm to leave behind. So my guess is the MTA have to employ a virtual army of people to clean these trains and at an enormous overall cost in wages etc. I admit there are no recepticles made available for disposing of rubbish in the train carriages but I guess thats another story for another time should they ever be installed. So has anyone at the MTA’s seat of power cross referenced the increase needed to maintain the present standard of service if commuters were educated to not act like slobs and didnt turn the trains into mobile garbage containers. I know the cries will go up about people losing their jobs but really they only have a job because Mr/Mrs/Ms Average are not very clean and tidy people and think that patronising the MTA gives them licence to be slobs. I did mention Taiwan earlier, I have travelled their subway and its the opposite to the New York subway, it is clean, and tidy and a pleasure to ride, notices at entries to the subway platforms inform you that no food or drink is to pass beyond that given point. The trains are clean and theres no sign of rubbish so it can be done its just a matter of self discipline and personal hygiene and thinking of others. So why cant we be like that, they are no better than we are. What do you think?
When everything we see as important in our lives and me in particular find time to have my say on things I find upsetting to me and I think Im moaning for others. In safety I can have my say and be allowed to voice my opinion but I have to stop and think and say something about those who are out there trying to preserve law and order on our behalf. Two young policemen doing their job trying to apprehend the occupants of a stolen vehicle. The viciousness of the crime against them is an outrage to everyone every straight thinking person wants those criminals that shot those two policemen apprehended and given the full punishment the law allows. Those people responsible for this vicious crime can never have given any thought to the many people that their vile deed has affected, the families, friends and the whole community that those policemen were working for and out there protecting. If prayers will restore the health of those two brave policemen then there will be no shortage I know. Hopefully they will make a full recovery they have the thoughts and prayers of everyone Im sure.
Firstly let me explain how I come to write this blog. Im an Ausstralian visiting the US at this time and I decided to take a look at any news that was of interest to me that was happening in Australia. So typing in Australian News I get news.com.au so I proceed to read whats going on and making I suppose headlines there. Doctors being quizzed regarding UK bombings ,Bart Simpson’ s frontal nudity (gravitating stuff that) and the new seven wonders of the world. Nothing there that deserves my comments or wasting time to read it. But as I scrolled down the page I could not believe what I saw and subsequently read. Entitled “Can we really trust young people to vote”………….”Youth too ignorant to vote” by a Mitchel Toy a University Student (no age supplied)’ on the 6th July 2007 at 1.00 am. Based on a report by the Federal Government which stated “civic education sorely needed” To those that do not know there is an election about to happen in Australia in October I think so I guess it all gloves off stuff at this time. So back to Mr Toy. This article by the way was printed and published by the Herald Sun a newspaper Ive never read and never will mainly as it lives on the other side of Australia from where I live, thank goodness.
Read the first nine lines of this article and he describes why the youth are not ready to vote and are more likely to vote for someone in Big Brother than either of our political party leaders Mr Howard (prime minister) and Mr Rudd (opposition leader) i guess in his opinion, he does not say whether that is a good or bad idea. Just about all the reat of the article is given to telling why our youth are not to be trusted to vote, citing that they are more interested in the Argentine revolutionary that was accused of sending many people to their deaths. They are glorifying him he says by wearing tee shirts with his picture on them and by buying belt buckles and other merchandise. The youth are ignorant of his deeds. So there you are our youth today can not be trussted to vote because this guy Ernesto has been glorified since the 60s says Mr Toy. The people who voted then, presumably before he was born (him..Mr Toy still being a student or could be Australias oldest Uni student) are now in their late 50s or around sixty were they incompetant, ignorant, I was around, I voted, I wasnt ignorant, stupid maybe but not ignorant. We have had many governments since the 60s none very good, still have the same problems, hospitals, police, transport, education, most of these politicians were probably university students that knew everything and who still think they do Mr Toy. Mr Toy says todays youth dont care about real politik but do care about rebellion against capitalism, Mr Toy youth have always been vocal and always will be whoever they see as their martyr will always be their motivation to change in their minds their futures. I for one detest having to suffer the compulsory voting system I tried to get myself off the electoral roll because I think its un democratic to be made to go and vote on a given day or be fined by liars cheats and generally people that are in the seat of parliament for their own ends as proven by the massive superanution payouts they recieve when they leave office. The baby kissers are now out in full force Mr Toy and youre the only one they are fooling a comment to your page was from a doctor in Perth who thinks that all people are too ignorant to vote I guess he means except doctors. Thats an interesting concept I guess go to the doctors for a prescription to vote.
Finally on all this crap the Herald Sun invites comments on Mr Toys article before you do read their publication and their privacy policies and you will see how bright the doctor is. Personally I think the Herald Sun has done itself irrepairable damage printing this ridiculous article.
